HISTORY & PHOTOS

St. Mychal the Martyr Parish officially opened its door in September of 2003.  The brainchild of five enthusiastic parishioners, St. Mychal's found its home in a store front easily accessible to all of Lexington.  The word went out and now we have grown to 20+ members of all walks, flavors and variations of life.  We are part of a national church - The Orthodox-Catholic Church of America - that was founded in the mid 1800's and has proven itself to be an alternative, collaborative and progressive church.  Since our small beginning God has blessed us with new members, the calling to baptism and chrismation of various persons, a Solemn Monastic Profession, an ordination of a woman to the Diaconate, and many weddings and Holy Union ceremonies.  We stand as symbol of what a church can be when we put our hearts and mind to it.
